This policy defines the commitment of HRA – Healthcare Research & Analytics LLC (HRA), our parent company, MJH Healthcare Holdings, LLC (MJH) as well as our affiliated companies, which include but are not limited to Intellisphere, LLC, Managed Care & Healthcare Communications, LLC, Physicians’ Education Resource, LLC, and ArcMesa Educators, LLC to protect the privacy of personally identifiable information (PII) that is collected or used in the course of conducting HRA business. On a global basis, HRA will, and will cause its affiliates to, establish and maintain business procedures that are consistent with this policy.
We respect the privacy rights of individuals.
HRA will respect the legal requirements that exist regarding the privacy of PII and we are committed to complying with all applicable law. HRA will, from time to time, review its PII collection, use, and disclosure practices in order to assure compliance with laws and regulations.
We give notice of all PII collection.
HRA will give notice when PII is collected or when any collected information is later to be provided to third parties. All notices will explain the need for the information and describe how the information will be used. PII will not be used to directly market any products or services to identifiable persons unless that possibility has been disclosed in advance and the opportunity not to participate has been given.
We explain the consequences of collecting and processing.
HRA will state the consequences of any decision by individuals not to provide PII requested by HRA.
We get explicit consent for sensitive information/opt-in.
HRA will maintain procedures to assure that information about children or other categories of sensitive information is only collected with explicit consent and is protected against improper use, consistent with applicable law.
We process and distribute information consistent with notice.
HRA will collect and use PII consistently with the notices that have been provided. However, HRA may decide to remove identifiable features from collected PII and the resulting information may then be used for statistical, historic, scientific or other purposes, consistent with applicable law.
Our site’s panel sign-up form allows healthcare professionals to give us their contact information (like their name and e-mail address). We use this contact information to make contact with doctors, nurses or allied health professional who would be interested in being compensated for participation in online and traditional research studies on medical topics. In exchange for panel member’s time, HRA provides a cash or gift incentive. HRA provides certain customer contact data (such as customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses) to our affiliated companies, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Intellisphere, LLC (medical publications)
- Managed Care & Healthcare Communications, LLC (medical publications)
- Physicians’ Education Resource, LLC (accredited medical education)
- ArcMesa Educators, LLC (accredited medical education website)
These companies may wish to promote relevant products, services and other opportunities that may be of interest to you. Please note that we do not share, sell, or rent your information to any third-party organization outside of our group of affiliated companies.
We provide individuals a way to opt-out of marketing outreach.
If you do not want HRA to make your contact information available to affiliated companies for marketing purposes, simply call 973.240.1200 between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm EST and an associate will assist you in removing your name from our lists. E-mail inquiries can be directed to email@example.com. Please include your name and e-mail address if it is different from the one you are using to contact HRA. Individual electronic mailings will give recipients the option of removing their information from our database to not receive future communications from HRA specifically. For our affiliated companies, you will have to opt-out of their specific services.
We provide information security.
HRA will maintain the security of PII, and protect the integrity of such information, with a commercially reasonable degree of care.
We provide individuals a way to access and correct their information.
HRA will maintain procedures consistent with applicable law for individuals to gain access to their collected PII and, when appropriate, correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete, change their individual consent level, or have their PII deleted.
We require others who process HRA data to comply with the HRA policy.
HRA will contractually require others who acquire or provide PII from or to HRA, including those engaged to provide support services, at a minimum, to adopt and comply with the principles and objectives of this policy.
We provide a way to verify compliance and process complaints.
HRA will publish the procedures for verifying compliance and responding to complaints regarding potential deviations from its established procedures for protecting PII. In addition to HRA’s internal Privacy Compliance Officer, the Insights Association, of which HRA is a member, is another resource for questions about verification and complaint processing.
We will disclose PII when required by Law or court order.
HRA will under certain circumstances permitted or required by law or court order, collect, use, and/or disclose PII pursuant to procedures that do not require giving notice or conducting related activities (for example, in connection with law enforcement investigations).
We will align our Human Resource processes with the HRA policy.
HRA will align its Human Resources processes, policies, practices, and guidelines (for information that is collected or used relating to former, current, or prospective employees) to comply with this Policy.
We retain the flexibility to change this policy.
HRA will, and reserves the right to, modify and update this policy or its related business practices at any time. HRA will NOT apply changes to this policy retroactively to information HRA has previously collected.
